GloriaFood alternativeA GloriaFood alternative before the April 30, 2027 shutdown
GloriaFood has announced end of life for April 30, 2027. If your ordering button, widgets, or table QR codes run on it, you have a deadline and about seven months to move without losing orders. Here is a checklist, an honest fee comparison, and where Ser.vi fits.
What has been announced
The GloriaFood website carries a service update: GloriaFood will reach end of life on April 30, 2027, existing customers stay supported through that date, and Oracle does not offer a direct replacement. The notice points customers to a third-party provider, FoodAmigos, as one option for moving.
For exactly what stops working and which export options exist, use your GloriaFood dashboard and Oracle's communications. They are the authoritative source, not this page. What follows is a practical plan that works whichever tool you choose.
A seven-step move-out checklist
Do these before you switch, whichever platform you pick.
- Save your menu. Items, descriptions, prices, modifiers, photos, and hours. Export what the dashboard allows. Screenshot or copy the rest.
- Save your customer list and order history while you still have access. Check what your dashboard lets you download, and what it does not.
- Write down your rules. Delivery zones, minimum orders, fees, scheduled-order settings, and active promo codes.
- Find every place your old link lives. Website buttons, Google Business Profile, Yelp, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok bios, printed menus, flyers.
- Plan for table QR codes. If your printed codes point to a GloriaFood link, they will need replacing.
- Run both systems for a few days. Place test orders on the new one, check the tickets print, then move your links.
- Tell your regulars. A short post and a sign at the counter with the new ordering link.
Starting in the autumn leaves room to test properly. Waiting until April leaves none.
Ser.vi vs GloriaFood

The honest difference: the fee
GloriaFood advertised free online ordering with no fees or commissions. Ser.vi is not the same deal, and you should know that before the demo.
Ser.vi takes no commission on direct online orders and charges no monthly fee for online ordering. Online orders carry a 5% fee added at checkout, paid by the guest. On POS orders, the restaurant pays 3.0% + 20¢ per transaction by default; you can pass it to customers with a cash discount program, and most of our POS restaurants do. Hardware is separate, and marketing plans are optional and billed separately.
The arithmetic on a $40 order: 5% online is $2.00 added at checkout for the guest. On the POS, 3.0% of $40 is $1.20, plus 20¢, for $1.40 — paid by the restaurant unless you use a cash discount program.
Whether guests accept a visible checkout fee is a real question for your restaurant. Delivery apps, by comparison, charge restaurants a commission of 25–30% on every order and keep the customer data. If a fee-free order button is all you need, look at other free options too and compare what each one charges and who pays. We would rather you pick the right fit than a surprise.
What a GloriaFood-style restaurant gets with Ser.vi
Online ordering, QR ordering, and an optional integrated POS on one menu.
Your own branded storefront
Customers order from your branded ordering page, not a marketplace listing. No contract for online ordering.
QR order and pay
Guests scan, order, and pay at the table or counter. No app download. Orders print to your kitchen printer.
You own the customer list
Every order captures customer info with opt-in permission, so you build your list instead of renting it.
Delivery option
Add delivery on demand through delivery networks we connect to, without driver costs. Delivery fees go to the delivery provider, not Ser.vi, starting at $6.50 plus tip.
Weekend menus, multiple locations
Switch to a weekend menu automatically on Friday. Manage multiple locations from one dashboard.
Use your own tablet and printers
Online ordering runs on compatible equipment you already have. We confirm compatibility before you start.
Who Ser.vi fits, and who it may not
Likely a good fit
You want online ordering, table QR ordering, and possibly a POS on one menu. You are fine with a guest-paid checkout fee in exchange for no monthly software bill. You also want to stop paying delivery-app commissions on orders you can bring in directly. See how that works in our DoorDash alternative guide.
Maybe not
You need table reservations today (they are coming, but they are not available yet). You want zero fees of any kind on every order. Or you are happy with a basic order button and want to spend nothing else. Compare other tools on total cost, and read our ChowNow alternative and Toast POS alternative guides for how we frame other models.
Five questions to ask any replacement
Including us.
- What is every fee, and who pays it? Commission, monthly software, processing, and checkout fees are different things.
- Is there a contract or setup fee? And what does leaving cost?
- Can I take my data with me? Menu, customers, and order history. Learn from this shutdown.
- Does it cover how I actually sell? Pickup, delivery, table QR, counter, catering.
- Who do I call when it breaks on a Friday night? Ask what support looks like.
Questions restaurants ask
- When does GloriaFood shut down?
- GloriaFood's own website says it will reach end of life on April 30, 2027, and that Oracle remains committed to supporting existing customers through that date. Check your GloriaFood dashboard and Oracle's emails for the authoritative details on what stops working.
- Is Ser.vi free like GloriaFood?
- Not in the same way. Ser.vi has no monthly fee and no commission on online ordering. Guests pay a 5% fee on online orders. On POS orders the restaurant pays 3.0% + 20¢ by default; you can pass it to customers with a cash discount program. Hardware is separate, and marketing plans are optional and billed separately.
- Does Ser.vi charge commission on online orders?
- No. Ser.vi does not take a commission on direct online orders. There is a 5% fee added at checkout on online orders, which is paid by the guest and covers processing and the platform.
- Can guests order and pay from a QR code at the table?
- Yes. Ser.vi QR self-service lets guests scan a code at the table or counter, order, and pay from their phone with no app to download. Orders print to your kitchen printer. We provide QR codes, table toppers, and counter stickers.
- Do I need new hardware to take online orders?
- Online ordering can run on your own compatible tablet and printers; we confirm compatibility before you start. POS hardware is separate and offered on terms. Ask about payment options on the demo.
- How long does setup take?
- Ser.vi states a one-week setup from the time all required information is received. Ask for the specifics for your menu and locations on the demo.
